Today saw a sunny afternoon well spent at Luma Studio mixing colours for a new project. I’m ususally pretty slapdash with my own colour choices so it was good to have some professionals take over. Thanks Lucie & Mark! (obviously Gary secretly runs the screenprinting studio from his perch on the bookshelf)
I’m trying to push myself out of my usual colour schemes (mmh red and blue, take a step back)
Charlotte Rivers has a great blog and just published a stationery book which I am featured in! It’s a great collection of different techniques and artists which I would recommend to any stationery afficionado. You can buy it here. The Huffington post has a lovely post about it too which can be seen here.
Some fluorescent printing went down this Saturday…stay tuned for a shop update!
The team at The Church of London decided to counter the gloomiest day of the year with their very own newspaper celebrating the good times. I’m proud to be part of this defiant venture. In your face January! Here is the website and they’ve also just uploaded a great video showing the making of, you can watch it here.
Here is a little something I am working on look out for it in my shop shortly!
The lovely ladies at Bitch Magazine invited me to illustrate the cover of their Winter 2011 issue. All the super–precise cutting, assembling and photography was done by Kristin Rogers Brown and Jasmine Silver from Bitch, thanks guys! Process photos are by Kristin. Check out the magazine here, I can recommend their feisty podcasts.
yeah you know…zebras..girls…Christmas colours…yes yes yes
Saturday at the market was great! Lovely atmosphere and lovely people. Thanks to Alina, Tash, Cengiz, Dean and Julius for keeping me company at various times of the long day. Also: the Barbican Christmas lighting is heavy on red and purple neon tubes which turns out to be a strangely pleasing combination. Come down on Thursday if you can to see it all, I will be back at my stall from 6 – 9:3o!
